We've helped others in ways that we realized we shouldn't have. Thankfully God see's our hearts and we should always strive to be honoring to Him.Noëlnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7083636787380935883.post-17146162159931240822013-05-29T10:17:37.000-07:002013-05-29T10:17:37.000-07:00Well said. If I bought things for their children it was never good enough or they had someone else buy the same thing so I would have to return the item I bought and then I would have to buy something extravagant and very expensive. I would spend above $200 on gifts only to have them ask why I hadn't bought more. I have had my own mother say she didn't have money for her bills, take money from me and then give it to my brother and sister-in-law so they could afford to golf, gamble and drink. I couldn't afford to adopt children because of the cost yet they were on government assistance, having more children and taking money from my elderly mother who lived on a fixed income (she was getting money from my brother and I and funneling it to them). My mother always said to me as I was growing up "God helps those who help themselves. I do believe in helping those in need but I don't like being manipulated and lied to. I also don't like it when a person takes government assistance if they don't need it and it could go to someone who IS IN NEED.Darlenenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7083636787380935883.post-66075851217768990582013-05-29T07:55:32.000-07:002013-05-29T07:55:32.000-07:00Amen! I have been feeling very anxious about the government and the way things are going and it has been making me so sick. Posting that verse reminded me to trust God in everything and to not be anxious because He is in control!Meg @ Little Homesteadhttp://www.bitoflife.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7083636787380935883.post-45901535970656951552013-05-29T07:35:43.000-07:002013-05-29T07:35:43.000-07:00Well said, Noel!
