I listened to a sermon online this morning, the preacher was Paul Washer and he was talking about salvation. He gave an illustration that is just so clear as to whether or not you know Christ.
"If I were to stand in front of the White House and say that I should be let in because I know the President, they probably wouldn't let me in. If the President were to come out and say, 'I know you, your Paul Washer,' they would probably let me in. So it is with Jesus. You may think you know Jesus, but does He know YOU?" (Paraphrased, watch the video) -Paul Washer
"22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." Matthew 7:22-23
